Beam sweepers are individually designed for high-speed, high-performance clearance of runways, taxiways and aprons - a unique range of bespoke machines, custom-built to military FOD pick-up criteria and meeting the legislated friction co-efficient for touch down zones. Beam is the sweeper of choice at many British airports including Stansted, Gatwick and Heathrow. International clients also include the UK Ministry of Defence (which operates 50 runway sweepers) and many airports throughout the world including Frankfurt, Barbados, Antwerp, Copenhagen, Lusaka and Tripoli. The diverse nature - and high performance requirement - of airport sweeping applications requires vehicles built for particular tasks including stand scrubbing, liquid pick up, rubber removal and high speed runway sweeping. Not only does Beam's modular design enable you to specify a configuration to meet precise military or civilian airside and landside sweeping requirements, it also means that you can have one machine that fulfils several functions equally efficiently. Giving you maximum clearance with minimum disruption. The sweeping equipment can be mounted on a range of chassis types between 10t to 36t GVM.

With an infinitely variable throttle for optimum performance and efficiency, the auxiliary engine drives a dynamically balanced multi-vane impeller. The Beam Range features variations on a number of common sweep configurations and vehicles can be designed with any number of brush/nozzle combinations to meet your specifications.

Stand cleaning & scrubbing
2500mm wide full width suction nozzle and scrubbing brushes combine with a detergent management & application system and high pressure surface washers for superb hard surface cleansing results. In addition, Beam has developed a high pressure hot water system for effective removal of grease and oil spills (VX Range only). The speed and efficiency of the operation enables rapid turnaround at busy airports.

Rubber removal
Water-based chemicals used with the built-in detergent management system, surface scarification and high pressure water system produce an environmentally-sound rubber removal solution. The ability to put down chemicals, rinse and remove detergents in a single pass helps prevent unnecessary pollution. Preferred rubber removal methods may vary.

Hot water system
As detergent cannot be used in certain environments - and the force of high pressure systems alone can damage surfaces - Beam has worked in partnership with its customers to develop the unique hot water cleansing system that features on the VX Range. Water on-board the vehicle is heated to 90°C and delivered via the high pressure system at up to 600 bar to enable the removal of oil and spills without chemicals.

Multi-task sweeping
Beam produces versatile, high performance machines designed to undertake a variety of airside cleansing tasks. Many of the sweeping/cleansing functions above can be combined in one powerful and durable ‘multi-task’ machine, increasing machine utilisation and reducing cost.
